As you work towards your retirement goals, you’ve inevitably thought about what it would feel like to be completely financially free.

But, what does “financial freedom” mean to you?

For most, the basic idea is not having to rely on a paycheck or income from your business to live the life you love. You are completely FREE; you call the shots, and anything is possible.

It’s simple enough to want financial freedom, but you have to have something that motivates you to achieve it, and I’m not just talking a dollar amount.

To truly understand what financial freedom means to you, you have to answer this one simple question:

What Would You Do If Money Wasn’t an Issue?

Would you quit your job, sell your house and live by the beach?

Would you donate generously to your favorite charity?

Set up college funds for all the children in your family?

Your list probably goes on and on.

Financial freedom gives you options. Everything you want out of life, all the things you want to achieve, give or share don’t rely on a dollar amount.

Imagine the Possibilities

The sooner you can peg down your answer to this question, the quicker you’ll be on your way to achieving financial freedom.

Here are a few probing questions to nudge you in the right direction:

  • What is currently lacking in your existing lifestyle?
  • What opportunities have you missed out on or passed up because of financial inability?
  • What gives you purpose or makes you feeling meaningful?
  • What do you love to do? Are you doing it now?
  • What makes you happy? Working? Being with family? Peace and solitude?

Inherently you know the answers to all these questions, but it can be difficult to put them into words.

I urge you to sit down and really take the time to consider what financial freedom means to you and what you would do if you accomplished it.

What It Has Done for Me

For my wife and I, financial freedom has brought great purpose to our lives in the form of helping others. We’re on a mission to help others (just like us) achieve the financial freedom that is meaningful to them.

But, we don’t want to work with just anybody.

We want to work with people that are motivated by a purpose and have a WHY for achieving financial freedom. It is inspiring and essential to your success with Smart Asset Opportunities.
